Grey, 14/3 hand mare. Born 1983. Tail-female line is to Wadduda through the foundation mare of Bill Munson, Rose of Raswan, daughter of Raffles and Reserve National Champion Mare with a foal at her side. 60.9% Raffles, 50.8% Skowronek.
PEDIGREE: Sabrina was sired by the great stallion PHP Dazl. Dazl was bred by the daughter of Roger Selby who imported Raffles to the United States. Lois Selby Perry bred her beautiful mare, Rafgida, a daughter of Raffles out of a daughter of Image to the most beautiful of the four brothers, Syzygy, bred by Alice Payne to produce PHP Dazl. Bill Munson owned another brother, Orbit. Garvin Tankersley Jr. owned Eclyptic and Dr. Jim Rooker owned the fourth, Apogee. Dazl was a fabulous performance horse trained and shown by Dr. Jim Rooker and the Drydens. He won in Park, English Pleasure, reining, and halter. However, he was to prove an extraordinary sire, improving every mare he was bred to, producing beautiful, long hipped, fine-necked, athletes and superb show horses. His daughters are cherished by their lucky owners.
Sabrina’s mother was the mare Fable Sesame, sired by a long-necked performance stallion that was sold to a breeder in Mexico, Shalimar Yuma. Like all of Sesame’s produce, this mare has a beautifully-shaped neck that arches high out of her chest with a fine throttle that facilitates beautiful bridling.
SHOW CAREER: Sabrina spent six months in formal training with Carolyn McDonald in Scottsdale. Sabrina was shown by her at an A show once and won the Championship in Open Hunter Pleasure only to be disqualified because of incorrect tack that was inadvertently put on her. However, she has subsequently been shown by our daughter, Allegra, who flew home and had no opportunity to ride her prior to the show and was Reserve Champion, Amateur Owner to Ride. The mare is finished and should win consistently at the Regional Level in Hunter Hack or Show Hack with an Amateur youth or adult Rider. She is big, white, beautiful and stands out in the show ring with her long stride and free shoulder movement. She has a lovely trot, canter and hand gallop and bridles naturally.
USES; Sabrina has had much trail experience and could be a pleasure horse, show horse supreme or a great brood mare that could easily out produce herself with her pedigree. She is loving, is easily handled by children and--like all the Rose line--man’s best friend. She attracts attention with her elegance. She loves to go forward and to show.
